Your Eminences, It's Not Just Bannon

I've been saying for years that the US Bishop's obsession with illegal immigrants stinks in the nostrils of many Americans and NOT necessarily for the single reason that they are anti-Catholic. I have told people in vain, that it's not just our bishops but the Lutherans and Episcopalians also get money for processing immigrants and refugees but it doesn't resonate.  The 19 year old who lost his mother to a car crash caused by a multiple times deportee who was helped by "the Catlics"  and who may or may not be Alt Right probably feels that we don't care about his suffering. Anybody who has had to flee an apartment  or rental townhouse because Catholic Charities paid  the landlord to house  a bunch of immigrants who have never seen running water, electricity or ovens before has been left with a bad taste in his mouth concerning the Church.  1Peter5   and Church Militant have published reports on the amount of money the bishops have gotten from the government. Curious people of all walks of life who wouldn't read 1P5, Church Militant or the bishop's last available financial report can easily go to the  usaspending.gov site to see that the bishops are getting quite a bit money.

The problem is not just with Protestants and the unchurched either. Steve Bannon  may have kicked the hornet's nest  but many Catholics have been saying for years that it bugs them that their bishop seems to care more about illegal aliens than his own people and have whispered that it all came down to money.  Elizabeth Yore of The Remnant wrote about the money trail last year.  I read a comment on a major blog from one man who got up from his pew and walked out of Mass  because the priest used his homily to talk politics and to support DACA. Hopefully, this man will go to another parish and not leave the Church but he's not the only one who is fed up.The bishops are hissing at Bannon but completely miss all the people standing behind him nodding.

  2. I live in Venice, Florida waiting for Irma a few hours away. We could have 10 million folks in Florida and elsewhere being in need of housing, etc. Wonder how concerned the Bishops will be? Between Harley and Irma the Bishops have plenty of opportunity to help. Hope so.

  3. The Bishops are so blinded by their own darkness, they have no clue what truth is and what it's not!! They are a combined Judas Iscariot selling the Church of Christ for their 30 pieces of silver, thus having to promote anti Catholicism of the left in order to keep the money rolling in.....and their pews filled with immigrants and refugees that don't even HAVE the money to put in the collection basket. No worries, their 'handlers' do. Meanwhile the real Church is now undergoing Her own Passion. Walking toward Calvary to be crucified, like our Master, at the hand of our very own JUDAS ISCARIOT Bishops.

  4. Here the Angelic Doctor gives us some perspective on foreigners amongst us:

It's too bad our bishops these days are steeped in modernist "scripture scholars" and "social justice" crappola instead of Scripture (which warns of the judgment that will be visited on shepherds who exploit their sheep for profit) and Aquinas.

Why are the clintons and Obama and probably soros visiting Canada, oh that's right, killary is promoting her book! Too bad Trudeau is a feminist as are the cccb. Canada we have a problem. Trump should put a wall up here also. I am so ashamed to say I am Canadian.Hannah

  6. People seem fond of quoting the Bible in support of apparently unrestrained immigration, e.g. Francis begins his message for the 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees with Leviticus 19.34. Yet I don't remember any of those people quoting other parts of Leviticus e.g. "In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls and shall do no work, whether native or stranger who sojourns among you" (16.29) or "If any man of the house of Israel and of the strangers who sojourn among them eats blood, I will set my face against such a soul, and will cut him off from his people" (17.10) or "If a man of the children of Israel and of strangers, who dwell in Israel, gives of his seed to the idol of Moloch, let him die in death: the people of the land shall stone him" (20.2), all of which bind the strangers under the same rules as the natives. The strangers seem not to receive the right of maintaining their foreign religious identity. In Leviticus it sounds like the strangers are expected to assimilate, but how often do we hear bishops saying that immigrants are obligated to assimilate? Moreover, what do those who like to quote Leviticus as support for unrestrained immigration make of these other verses from Leviticus: "Of the sons of strangers too, who sojourn among you, you will buy, and of their kinship, which is among you and which they begat in your land, you will have these for possession and by right of inheritance you will transmit them to your posterity and you will possess them forever as servants" (25.45-46)?

  7. Thank you, Dymphna, you are saying exactly what so many of us are thinking. God save us from the false shepherds.

  8. Amen, sister! The USCCB has become an auxiliary wing of the Demonrat Party and has sold its collective soul to the secular world for filthy lucre. Of course , since most of the Catholics in the West left the Church after the destruction of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I guess the so-called shepherds got desperate to replace all that lost revenue. Bannon may not be the world's greatest spokesman but at least he called them out publicly. Their reaction was unsurprising, although fun to watch. The worst part of all their mock outrage is its stark contrast to their near-total silence over the legal persecution of David Daleiden and the CMP. The second worst part is that apparently they think we really are stupid enough to buy their snake oil.
